Artist Statement: Frida Kalho was a powerful human being and an even more powerful artist. She dealt with health challenges, social challenges, and even more difficult interpersonal challenges. This was the fodder for her art, her art was her therapy and her self exploration. She did this in ways that no one had done before. Her art was a conversation with herself, and in doing so, she showed us all how to do the same. Her art is a window into her psyche and her spirit, her challenges and her life. The more I learn about her and experience her art, the deeper it gets.
