Artist Statement: “Interesting enough, this photo was taken in broad daylight. I bracketed the photo to be able to get all the shadows and highlights for a properly exposed image once I got it into post. The low angle was intentional, however I didn’t realize what it was really going to become until I brought it into photoshop. Inspiration spurred from there when I was more intrigued with the darker frames, and imagined what it would be like to see this parked in real time. It’s almost got a ghost like quality to it, much like the road it sits on. The car is permanently parked in Amboy, CA at Roys Motel + Cafe - once a major stop off old Route-66. The cafe is now a gift shop, with a handful of working gas pumps but the motel is no more. Amboy itself is now a ghost town. (Amboy, CA) “ - Jen Rubin
