SOLD Title: Dali Type: Oil on Canvas Size: 20" x 34" Price: $5500 Artist Statement: "Salvador Dali is an influence of mine in terms of his art, but also in how he approached being an artist. He never lost his fun, playful, upside down side. His paintings are stunning in their execution and also play in the viewer’s subconscious. Dali has pushed the surrealist movement so far that he’s created a ton of room for future generations to roam. I’m grateful for his perspective and artistic meanderings, and I’m taking the baton and running full speed." -Taylor Gallegos

This piece was one that was made in a week that I blocked off to do some creative painting that pushed in completely new directions. I love Banksy’s work and in him being himself, speaking for those without voices, he encourages all of us to do the same. Title: Wastleland Hop Type: Oil on Canvas Size: 20" x 24" Price: $1500 Backstory: Painted live on-stage during a concert. The band performing are local Colorado legends, a multi-genre rock band called, Wasteland Hop. The raw emotion of the crowd with the music flowing, Taylor was locked in, in pure flowstate, picking up paintbrush after paintbrush, resulting a pure, in-the-moment painting that is one of a kind.
Title: Andy Type: Oil on Wood Size: 24" x 30" Artist Statement: "Andy Warhol has been a major influence on my work since I first learned about him, but also from before I learned about him. Some artists influence the conversation of art history so powerfully that they change the entire climate of the conversation from then onward. Publicly he was an enigma, privately he was a sweet human that had challenges and problems like any of us. For me, Warhol has been an inspiration, a teacher, a guide, and more, and I’ve also loved learning of his human side. I feel a lot of compassion for this person who was so misunderstood but has left such a large mark as well." -Taylor Gallegos
SOLD Title: Standing Bull Type: Oil on Wood Size: 36" x 48" Price: $3500 Artist Statement: "This painting was created at the time of the Standing Rock protests. It was ironic that the protests were in the same place and the same tribe that Chief Sitting Bull was part of. He led his people in an uprising against General Custer and had a major victory against the U.S. Military. The overlapping of time, space, and energy is hard to ignore in this situation. History has a way of repeating itself. This painting brings the energies of the past and the recent past together into one place. I didn’t intend to paint the head of a bull, but this image is what came to be. It’s interesting to me how my subconscious will bring things to the surface that I didn’t necessarily have as a conscious decision or intention." -Taylor Gallegos

She dealt with health challenges, social challenges, and even more difficult interpersonal challenges. This was the fodder for her art, her art was her therapy and her self exploration. She did this in ways that no one had done before. Her art was a conversation with herself, and in doing so, she showed us all how to do the same. Her art is a window into her psyche and her spirit, her challenges and her life. The more I learn about her and experience her art, the deeper it gets." -Taylor Gallegos
